I needed a new laminate trimmer and spent a fair amount of time researching what to get. After reading last weeks post by CROWDUCK (Chris Nielsen) I decided to go to Home Depot and Rockler to try some out.
The Porter Cable came highly recomemded by John Hall and others and it is indeed a really nice machine,but I did decide to get the RIDGID R2400 at Home Depot for $97. It came with the case, a pattern cut router bit, 1 edge guide and a bearing guide!
6 Amps, 30000 RPM and dept adjustment makes it a nice economical addition to any shop!
WHAT A DEAL!!!!

Just thought I would share this to help any undecided minds looking for a Laminate Trimmer!

I like mine. BTW, I recently found out that Ridgid is coming out with a new 2 & 1/2 horsepower router with both fixed and plunge bases, a quarter-inch AND half-inch collet, several accessories and a soft carrying case for 200.00. Should be at the Depot by the end of March.
